Heat Pump Demand Rising in 2021

Demand for heat pumps has risen by 28% in 2021, according to the latest research. The research also noted that 57% of home-owners want to be more eco-friendly. This trend is certainly something we have witnessed here at Alto Energy, as 2021 has proven to be our busiest year yet!

Heat Pump Demand Rising

According to a report by Rated People, demand for heat pumps has risen by 28% in 2021. Heat pumps provide heating and hot water to the home by capturing the solar energy stored in the air or in the ground. By doing this, heat pumps provide a total replacement for a traditional fossil fuel boiler system.

The burning of fossil fuels produces harmful emissions which contribute to climate change. Whilst heat pumps do require electricity to operate, electricity in the UK is increasingly coming from zero carbon sources such as wind and solar, meaning that heat pumps represent the greenest way to heat your home.

It isn’t just for environmental reasons that consumers are considering switching to heat pumps. Running costs for a heat pump are significantly lower than oil, LPG or direct electric heating, and until March 2022, the Government are providing a generous incentive for homeowners to switch to a low carbon heating system, like a heat pump.

With only a year to go on this policy, called the Renewable Heat Incentive, you don’t want to miss out. You can read more in our blog here.
