GREEN HOMES GRANT - Closed 31/03/2021

Green Homes Grant is now Closed

As of 31st March 2021 the Green Homes Grant was closed to new applications. You can see on our blog why that’s not a problem.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is still open to new applicants till the 31st March 2022 so get in touch today to avoid missing out on thousands of pounds worth of incentive payments to install either a ground source or air source heat pump.

What Is The Green Homes Grant?

The Government recently announced more details about the new Green Homes Grant, which will provide home-owners with up to £5,000 to make their homes more energy efficient. The new scheme will see the government fund up to two-thirds of the cost of home improvements of over 600,000 homes, supporting over 100,000 jobs in green construction.

Heat Pumps At The Heart Of Government Plans for Green Homes Grant

Heat pumps are listed as a “first line measure” alongside insulation, which clearly demonstrates the impact a heat pump can have at reducing carbon emissions from a home. Heat pumps have long been central to the Government’s plans for UK housing to reduce carbon emissions towards the “net zero” emissions target. In order to access funding, customers have to install at least one first line measure, since these measures are deemed to make the biggest difference to the energy efficiency of the home.

If you have any queries at all regarding the Green Homes Grant, or about heat pumps in general, please do not hesitate to get in touch and speak with one of our experts.

Choose a TrustMark Registered Company

It is vital that you have the works carried out by a TrustMark Registered company otherwise you won’t be eligible for the funding. Alto Energy are TrustMark registered and MCS Accredited, both of which are required when considering a heat pump under the Green Homes Grant.

If you are an Heating or Plumbing Installer looking to offer the heat pumps through the Green Homes Grant, but are neither MCS Accredited or TrustMark registered, you can do so under the Alto Energy MCS Umbrella Scheme where we design and supply the heat pump system for you to install, and we send an engineer at the end to commission the system to make sure it meets the required standards.
