With the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, you can get a grant that covers part of the cost of replacing your fossil fuel heating system with a heat pump.
This applies no matter if your fossil fuel heating system is oil, gas or electric. The scheme is open to people in England and Wales, but if you live in Scotland, you might be able to get an interest-free loan or a grant to make your home more energy efficient.
As of yet, only a third of the low-carbon heating scheme’s annual budget has been used since launch in May 2022, so the Government is keen to change this. The boiler upgrade is important in helping Britain’s transition to net zero. However, so far, by the end of January, £49.7m in vouchers had been issued, equating to only 7,641 installations.
