If you’re eligible for full funding, we will then carry out a Retrofit Assessment on your property. This will help us to determine what heat pump you need for your property, as well as any other energy efficiency or renewable energy measures that you might be eligible for.

What is a heat pump system?

A heat pump system is an energy-efficient way to heat your home. It works by capturing heat from the air outside and using it to warm your home and hot water. Even in cold weather, it will provide reliable heating while using far less energy than traditional systems like gas boilers. Heat pumps are low-carbon and can help reduce your energy bills over time.

How can a heat pump be fully funded?

There are a whole host of Government grants and incentives that have been introduced recently to enable homeowners to adopt cleaner, cheaper and more efficient heating technologies like air source heat pumps. Some of these schemes specifically target householders with high heating bills in receipt of certain benefits, and who need additional support in making this transition. In such instances, the funding will often cover the full cost of the installation, enabling Alto Energy to provide you with a fully funded air source heat pump.

Who is eligible for a fully funded heat pump installation?

There are a number of criteria against which we need to assess eligibility, including:

Energy Efficiency of Your Home: Typically the funding schemes target less efficient homes with a EPC rating of E or worse. This is to ensure that the funding is being applied to the homes with the highest heating bills.
Current Heating System: Whilst all existing heating systems can be eligible, there is usually more funding available for houses without a mains gas connection. If you have a gas boiler but it is broken or very old, you may still be eligible for a fully funded heat pump installation.
Income or Benefits: To receive a fully funded heat pump system, either your household income needs to be below a certain threshold, or you or someone in your household needs to be in receipt of certain benefits. We assess all of this following your application.
