Featuring low-energy circulation pumps and easily capable of achieving flow temperatures up to 65°C, our current range of heat pumps perform better than any that have come before.

  • Every heat pump supplied and commissioned by Alto Energy comes with a genuine parts and labour warranty. Our coverage includes:

    • Ground Source Heat Pumps: 5-year parts and labour warranty

    • Air Source Heat Pumps: 7-year parts and labour warranty

  • Installing a new heat pump attracts zero-rated VAT, meaning you don’t pay any VAT whatsoever on the supply, installation, and commissioning of a replacement heat pump. This is in contrast to the standard 20% VAT rate that applies to repair work. This represents a significant saving, and is an important consideration when deciding between repairing or replacing your heat pump.

  • Through our network of approved installation partners, Alto Energy will organise the delivery of your new heat pump, the disconnection and collection of your old heat pump, and installation of your new heat pump onto the existing connections. If you are looking at making alterations to the existing ground loop or distribution system, this is possible; however, we recommend contacting us early to discuss your plans.

  • Anyone who takes up our heat pump recycling scheme offer will also get their first year service free of charge. To claim this, you will need to sign up to one of our heat pump service plans. For customers already on a service plan, you won’t need to do anything; your direct debit will simply be paused for 12 months before resuming again after the free service has been completed.

Frequently Asked Questions About our heat pump replacement services

Can you replace just the heat pump?

Yes, in most cases you can. With a ground source system, the underground pipes usually stay in place and can be re-used. With an air source system, the hot water tank and radiators are often fine to keep as well.

How much does it cost to replace a heat pump system?

The price depends on your home and the type of system you need. Because much of your existing kit can be re-used, replacement is often cheaper than you might expect. We can give you a clear idea of costs for your property.

Can I replace my ground source heat pump with an air source heat pump?

Yes, you can. This is sometimes done if the ground loop is damaged or if the land is being sold. An air source heat pump can usually work with your current heating and hot water system.

Can I get a heat pump replacement using BUS scheme?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme helps households switch from fossil fuel or direct electric heating to a heat pump. It isn’t available if you are simply replacing an old heat pump. If you currently use oil, gas, LPG or electric heating, you may be able to claim a grant towards the cost of installing a new system.
