BEAUTIFUL COTSWOLD SETTING

Caswell House is a beautiful historic 15th century manor house with stunning medieval barns set in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, offering a stylish and romantic setting for weddings. Caswell House features beautiful grounds including an ancient orchard, walled gardens and extensive lawns stretching down to the picturesque moat, making this venue a celebrated local landmark.

The owners of Caswell House were also minded to incorporate a heating system in keeping with the natural setting, which utilised renewable energy with no on-site emissions. Working with one of our experienced local installation partners, Alto energy were entrusted to apply their unparalleled expertise in designing the optimum Heat Pump solution for this prestigious project, with a brief to ensure it provided all of the heating and hot water for the two buildings specified for heat pump solutions.

THE TECHNICAL SOLUTION

For the main venue, we specified:

  • 2x 16kW Samsung Gen5 air source heat pumps operating in cascade

  • 2x 500L unvented heat pump domestic hot water cylinders.

For both buildings the clients specifically requested an abundance of hot water, so it was important on this project to incorporate the requirement capacity for the provision and ongoing replenishment of hot water, in addition to providing sufficient space heating through the underfloor heating system.

non-domestic renewable heat incentive

The owners of Caswell House are eligible for the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive, meaning that they will receive a grant payment from the Government every year for the next 20 years. Meanwhile, the venue is now marketed as a low carbon venue, boasting Alto Energy’s air source heat pumps as well as solar panels.
