Why Heat Pumps Don't Always Mean Going It Alone
Robbie and the team at Shoosmith Heating and Plumbing were primarily traditional boiler installers before new build regulations pushed them toward heat pumps. Rather than pursuing MCS accreditation independently for a small part of their workload, they joined our Alto Assured Partner Installer network in 2022 and completed our free heat pump training course. We caught up with Robbie to hear how that decision has worked out.
WHY THE UMBRELLA SCHEME MADE SENSE
For installers like Robbie, where heat pumps are one part of a broader gas and plumbing business, pursuing MCS accreditation independently rarely makes sense. The certification, ongoing compliance, and admin overhead are hard to justify against occasional installs.
