Change to Domestic RHI - Relaxation of 12 Month Rule

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BIES) have published a notice regarding the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The Document outlines the Government’s intention to relax the current ‘12 month rule’ where you have to apply for the RHI within 12 months of the commissioning date of your heat pump.

Due to a number of COVID related restrictions this has not been possible for some people and therefore some have missed out on the application. The Government intend to relax this rule so that installations with a commissioning date on or after 1st March 2019 will be able to apply for the RHI until the scheme closes on 21st March 2022.

The full announcement can be read here.

If your heat pump was commissioned on or after the 1st March 2019 and you are yet to make a claim then you may still be able to get your RHI payments. As ever please do contact us below if you have any queries.
