The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme which is a requirement for any company which commissions renewable heating products, such as heat pumps.
Mr & Mrs Didsbury, from Lancashire, chose Alto Energy to design, supply and commission their 11kW IVT Greenline HE Ground Source Heat Pump based on a recommendation from their local plumber and builder. ‘Rising fuel prices, Renewable Heat Incentive payments and both oil and coal being dirty and expensive’ were all significant factors in their decision to choose heat pump technology to provide a cost efficient heating system for their home.
Ofgem have now confirmed that the Renewable Heat Incentive ("RHI") payments for Air Source Heat Pumps will increase by 33% from 20th September 2017 (subject to final Parliamentary approval).
Ofgem have stated that the Renewable Heat Incentive ("RHI") payments for air source heat pumps are due to increase by approximately 33% this Spring/Summer. For a typical 3-bedroom property with a heat load of 15,000 kWh, the amount of RHI payable is now over £1,000, an increase of around £240 from the previous tariff rates.
