Need Information on the Cost of Having a Heat Pump Installed?

This month, the government has made a number of changes to its approach to net zero.
The good news is that the grants for heat pumps are being increased. From 23 October 2023, the grants will increase from £5,000 (for air source) and £6,000 (for ground source) to £7,500.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is also being extended until 2028, having previously been only lasting until 2025.

It’s also hoped that delaying the deadline for net zero will give households more time to adapt.

The bad news is that the Government Is delaying the ban on installing oil and liquid-petroleum-gas (LPG) boilers and new coal heating for ‘off-gas-grid’ homes, until 2035.

If you’re keen to make the switch to heat pumps but are concerned about the cost, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme can provide you with significant financial support.

First launched in April 2022, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme is designed to reduce the cost of introducing eco-friendly heating systems. In order to receive a grant, the property must have an eligible Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) issued in the last decade, with no outstanding recommendations to install loft or cavity wall insulation.

If you need more details on the cost of a heat pump installation, Alto Energy Limited is always happy to provide you with an estimation for your project. Our blog on eligibility for the BUS scheme and how to apply can also provide you with the information you need.
