Air Source Heat Pump Installation and Commissioning: How Alto Supports Developers and Installers
Managing heat pump installations across a new-build development involves more than simply supplying the equipment. Developers need the system designed correctly, the installation team supported on site, and the completed systems properly commissioned before homeowners move in.
At Alto Energy, we work with developers and heating installers to manage these stages, from system design and equipment supply through to commissioning and ongoing support.
Once we have commissioned a system, Alto takes responsibility for the heat pump system and remains the point of contact for ongoing support. This gives developers and homeowners peace of mind, while installers can focus on the physical installation.
A new-build heat pump project with JWS Cotswold Builders
A recent project in Oxfordshire is a good example of how this works in practice.
JWS Cotswold Builders were developing a nine-property site, with each property fitted with a Samsung Gen 6 air source heat pump and underfloor heating downstairs.
The physical installations were carried out by South West Plumbing and Heating Ltd, while Alto supplied the heat pumps and provided technical support and commissioning.
Once the systems were ready, our Commissioning Engineer, Martin, attended the site to commission the first three heat pumps.
It's a good example of how developers can work with an experienced heat pump partner while the installers handle the physical installation.

What happens after commissioning?
This is an important part of working with Alto.
Once we have commissioned the heat pump, we take responsibility for it and provide ongoing support and aftercare.
For the developer, this means there is a clear point of contact if a homeowner has a question about their heat pump after moving in.
For the homeowner, it means they aren't left wondering whether to contact the plumber, the heat pump manufacturer or someone else if they need help. They have Alto as their point of contact for the heat pump system.
For the installer, it provides a clear handover point. Once commissioning is complete, they can move on from the project knowing that Alto is supporting the system going forward.
